Static electricity represents a serious issue during helicopter hoist operations as the helicopter in hover builds up a permanently huge electrical charge.
To solve the problem, allowed static electricity to be discharged before any person contacts the helicopter.
For this, during hoist operation, it is recommended to connect it to the hoist hook with a wire long enough to discharge static electricity before personnel on the ground grasp the hook or personnel on the hook touch the ground.
If entangled on the ground, the KONG static discharge lead is automatically disconnected from the hoist hook thanks to the safety fuse (from 40 to 60 Kg) fitted between the automatic Twist Look stainless steel connector and the wire.
In addition, yellow textile fluo protection ensures high visibility of the static discharge lead.
